San Miguel Gold Label Best of The Philippines

* For those just dropping onto this page without going through the homepage…

Please note that the “Magnolia Ice Cream with the iconic oval logo” you see being sold in the United States and Canada is NOT in any way related to San Miguel Philippines.

To repeat: Magnolia Ice Cream USA (even with the familiar logo that Filipinos grew up with in the Philippines) is NOT a Product of the Philippines. It is made by a morally depraved USA company called Ramar Foods, which pirated the brand and logo from San Miguel Philippines.

There is a whole scandal surrounding this issue known as the OMGpeke scandal.

Ramar Foods is NOT a distributor of San Miguel. Ramar Foods has no access to San Miguel’s proprietary recipes or processes. That is why the two products (Magnolia Ice Cream USA vs. Magnolia Philippines) don’t share the same taste that Philippine-born Filipinos are used to. Ramar Foods is merely using the brand name and logo to surf on the goodwill that San Miguel has developed for the real Magnolia among Filipinos.

In the United States, San Miguel is prescribed by law to sell its “Magnolia Philippine-made ice cream” as Mellorine. And the brand name they are using is San Miguel Gold Label Best of the Philippines. You can see on the label that it says Product of the Philippines.
